NFL Helmet 2 Helmet: Wild Card Round

January Football is what decides championships in the NFL, let’s take a look at all four games in the wild card round.

ARIZONA AT CAROLINA

It’s crazy how much things have changed during the home stretch for both the Carolina Panthers and the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona was the top team in the NFL through week 11, since then, they’ve lost 4 of their last 6 and have endure the loss of starting quarterback Carson Palmer which pushed them back all the way to the 5th seed. Carolina is in this discussion because they won the NFL South with only a 7-8-1, and even though the Panthers have won 4 straight, not a single one of their opponents during this streak was a playoff team. Arizona’s problem, is that there is too much uncertainty going into this week, and with Palmer out and the game being played in Charlotte, I think the Panthers will squeak out a win. PREDICTION – PANTHERS Continue reading

NFL Helmet 2 Helmet: Week 16

Johnny Foolball

It’s been said that the first full day at a new job feels like the longest day. Well you certainly don’t have to remind Cleveland Browns new starting quarterback Johnny Manziel. And yes, I refuse to hear the excuses, at least Manziel “manned up” in the press conference and didn’t use the rookie excuse or any excuse for that matter and accepted the bulk of the blame for the blunder in Cleveland this past Sunday. NFL Helmet 2 Helmet: Week 13

BRADY VS. RODGERS

Kids, you are in for a treat this week the best team in the NFC will host the best team in the AFC, kinda reminds me of this other game we have called…THE SUPERBOWL! If there was a possible championship preview game it’s this week in Lambeau. However, it will be Rodger’s first meeting against Brady as the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. Brady is 2 and 1 against Green Bay and both teams are hot as lava right now. Continue reading

NFL HELMET TO HELMET: WEEK 10

 WHAT’S NEXT FOR ADRIAN PETERSON?

Earlier today, Adrian Peterson pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and will face probation, a $2k fine, and 80 hours of community service. This begs the question of his eligibility back into the league. To be honest, I feel like Peterson didn’t try to deny or hide anything and he made a mistake. Peterson was raised in a abusive household and sometimes those types of instincts are hard to shake when you have children of your own. Continue reading

 CONTENDERS COLLECT REALITY CHECKS

aaron rodgers

No matter who you play, whether it’s the worst team or the best team you have to go out there with the same competitive mindset every single week. Someone forgot to tell that to the Green Bay Packers and the Indianapolis Colts.

Andrew Luck and company literally looked like they had fallen asleep in the first half of their game against Pittsburgh, and the Steelers did not waste an opportunity to capitalize. The Pittsburgh Steelers scored 35 first half points and made it impossible for Indianapolis to catch up after halftime. The Steelers held the ball for nearly 40 minutes of the game and capitalized on two costly interceptions by Andrew Luck and scored 7 total touchdowns in 60 minutes of football. Continue reading

TODD GURLEY AND THE QUESTION OF SALARIES FOR COLLEGE ATHLETES

A few weeks ago, the University of Georgia suspended star running back Todd Gurley indefinitely, Gurley was expected to be a top 5 pick in the 2015 NFL draft, and a Heisman Trophy contender, but in this day and age, it’s the popular thing to let a “troubled player” drop a couple rounds because it displays his perspective team’s integrity. NFL HELMET 2 HELMET: WEEK 8

GREATEST EVER?

It’s such a difficult thing to put a label on a single player in a sport with as many years of history as the NFL, one thing is for damn sure, he’s the greatest of this era. In a league where defensive backs are running a 4.2-40 yard-dash, and coaches and quarterbacks are changed and sent from team to team on daily basis, one person and football ideology has remained the same since his inception to the league as the #1 pick out of Tennessee, Peyton Manning. Continue reading
