What are Easy Life Solutions? Well you sure do ask a lot of questions damn it! Just kidding. To put it simply, they are solutions to make your life easier without having to think too much. This post will be the first in a series of continuous posts until your life is so easy you won’t even have to blink for yourself!
INSTANT BEER CHILLER
Got a bottle of beer that’s been sitting out of the fridge for too long and you don’t have the time to let the beer sit in the fridge for several hours till it chills? Fine, wrap up the brewskis in wet paper towels and throw them in the freezer for 15 minutes and viola, never fear, you’ve got cold beer!
BUSTED LIGHT BULB BASE STUCK IN THE LAMP
Playing LaCrosse in the house again huh? Great! You’ve knocked over the lamp and broke the f#$king light bulb with the base of the bulb still attached to the fixture. Don’t panic, we’ll have this fixed before your mom or wife gets home!
If you don’t have either a set of pliers or a broken bulb extractor on hand, but you do have a medium-size uncooked potato, you can make an effective bulb extractor. Carve one end of the potato into a cylinder small enough to fit inside the base but engage it – about ¾”in diameter. Taper the tip of that cylinder and make a hole in the center of it to fit over the glass filament support. Hold the potato by the unpeeled end and, as with the broken bulb extractor, push it firmly over the filament support and into the base. Then use it to turn the base out of the socket.
CHARGE YOUR CELL PHONE 40% FASTER
Oh shit, you forgot to put you phone on the charger last night and now you got a full day ahead of you and your car charger doesn’t work, or maybe you don’t own a car. You got 15 good minutes before you leave? Great, putting your cellphone on airplane mode while charging it will actually charge your phone 40% faster than normal. The only down side to this is that you won’t be able to make or receive calls, but in all probability, you don’t have time to make or take calls anyway, I’m sure the world can survive without you for 15 – 20 minutes.
AIRPORT LUGGAGE
Even though there are hundreds of different brands and colors available, people always seem to buy dark blue and black luggage, as a matter of fact, the TSA reported that around 80% of the luggage on single flight are in fact dark blue and black. I’ll be the first to say that I’ve been known to let my luggage travel around the luggage carousel 4 times before I claim it or notice it, sometimes I even grab the luggage of others. So what’s an easy life solution for that? A giant bright colored ribbon on the handle, I prefer fluorescent green, the probability that there are two on the carousel like that are pretty slim.
HOW TO REMOVE SHARPIE MARKER STAINS FROM:
Sharpie markers are extremely handy, sharpie marker stains are not. So how do you get rid of marker mistakes?
CLOTHES – Use hand sanitizer
WALLS – Use toothpaste or hairspray
WOOD – Use rubbing alcoshol
CARPET – Use White Vinegar
FURNITURE – SKIM MILK
CERAMIC OR GLASS – Use (1) part toothpaste with (1) part baking soda
KEEP ANY DRINK COLD WITHOUT GETTING WATERED DOWN FROM ICE
They’re grrrrrrapes! Simple as that, instead of freezing water in ice trays, freeze grapes, or if you’re drinking non-alcoholic beverages, you can match the drink with the drink. In other words, if you drink Coca-Cola, freeze Coca-Cola in your ice trays instead of water, you can mix and match juices and sodas and kool-aids, there are millions of combinations, all of which will end up not watering down your drink.
UNCLOG A SINK
Pour a half a cup of baking soda and a cup of vinegar into a clogged drain. Once it stops foaming rinse down the sink and your drains will be clear. A cheap and environmentally friendly way to unclog a sink!
